Getting to Know Each Other

We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking.

We want to help make your first experience at Manchester Vineyard a great one!

What Can I Expect at Manchester Vineyard?

WHAT'S THE CULTURE LIKE AT MANCHESTER VINEYARD?

Sunday's at Manchester Vineyard are casual, and relaxed. Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.

HOW LONG IS A MANCHESTER VINEYARD SERVICE?

In total, a Manchester Vineyard church service is about 90 minutes in length, and begins with a short, opening greeting and prayer.

Immediately following the opening, one of the Manchester Vineyard bands leads the church in music meant to inspire our hearts and minds as we sing to God.

We typically stand together and sing three songs as a community. Children remain with parents during this time. Don't worry, we don't get bent out of shape when children are loud or talkative, though we expect parents to keep their children close to them during this time and not let them wander about.

WHAT'S THE MUSIC LIKE?

Our music is a mixture of modern rock and indie sounds, and our lyrics are displayed clearly on screens placed at the front of the sanctuary. Feel free to sing or not. It's up to you to determine your level of comfort and engagement. Feel free to SING LOUD!

SO WHAT ELSE HAPPENS?

After we finish singing, we enjoy sharing communion with one another. Communion is an ancient tradition of remembering Jesus' sacrifice for us on the cross. We provide communion bread and juice in two different forms, one is more in line with older communion traditions, and one is prepackaged for those less inclined to pull bread from a common loaf and dip into a common cup.

After communion, we collect an offering. Please do not feel any pressure to give in any way. Offerings are a part of our worship of God and is a sacred and personal expression of faith. We encourage people to give only according to their faith and conviction, though we teach tithing to those who consider themselves family members of our community.

After the offering has been collected, everyone is dismissed for a short 5-minute break. This allows people time enough to warm up their coffee, say hi to someone new, and make sure Sunday School-aged children are properly checked into their classrooms.

WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?

We believe that kids should have a blast at church every single week - and at Manchester Vineyard, we make this a priority. The other thing we make a priority is your children's safety. Because of that, we have a detailed check-in process for our children's program the first time you visit. Our children's program is offered to all kids ages infant thru grade 6.

THE SERMON

At Manchester Vineyard, we believe Jesus is always relevant for our current questions, issues, situations, and circumstances. Our sermons are designed to be hope-filled, inspiring and to incorporate the wisdom contained in the Bible, applying that wisdom to today's life needs.
